Deerfield Blues

There’s usually some music at the Saturday morning farmers’ market near the train station.  This time, besides the chipotle-cumin-garlic cheese, I got a long clip of a local blues band.  The lead singer’s phrasing reminded me a bit of Mose Allison[5 min 26 sec]

Last night, I had my first calamari ever (lots better than prairie oysters)

I’m going to have to see if they’re in Florida – all good stuff, especially the light chili ginger sauce.

wait wait…you have NEVER had Calamari?? I definitely prefer them over oysters any day. They’re also good not fried, if done right.
good times, nice update!

Never mind the calamari – I’ve managed to find enough to eat in my life – but what did you think of the band?

Pretty good band. Nice situation – pick out the carrots as you shimmy amongst the vegetables.
Just spent several hours listening to Eric Clapton’s “Unplugged”, as I drove from Vancouver to Edmonton (arrived 10 minutes ago). So aside from being a bit road stunned, my sensors are definitely “blues” wired at the moment. I like blues where you can still hear individual instruments – on Unplugged, Chuck Leavell does some great piano and of course, Clapton’s voice and guitar are spectacular. (1992, recorded live in England).
Food looks good too – I could easily drool, as have nothing to eat in the apartment!
By the way, was unable to open the sesame dressing recipe for the tuna. Not sure what happened. Please resend.
Hello to Nicole and Jeff too. Ribs have not arrived by Fedex yet.

The recipe is on the way again, Marilyn, in two versions – that vinaigrette needs to be spread around the world.

And I still love blues but am finding that I’m starting to get hooked on Lady Gaga and her ilk.

Plus wait till I post the music we heard from the “Libido Funk Circus” band on Navy Pier yesterday!
